Children’s Grief Awareness Day
To honor Children’s Grief Awareness Day, R.I.S.E. Northwest hosted a private event in Gonzaga University’s Hemmingson Center to celebrate families of Camp Cope & Team RISE participants. This special occasion highlighted the personal stories and grief experiences of two GU students and R.I.S.E. Volunteers who spoke openly about their loss, hoping to serve as an inspiration for many young people going through similar experiences.
The event’s highlight was the Wall of Support, a collection of messages to grieving children from all over the community, encouraging them to be strong, hopeful and confident.
“Children’s Grief Awareness Day is designed to help us all become more aware of the needs of grieving children — and of the benefits they obtain through the support of others. Children’s Grief Awareness Day is an opportunity to make sure that grieving children receive the support they need.”
“You are valuable. You are precious. You are seen. You are LOVED.”
We are extremely grateful to everyone who participated!
